DIT & SBJBC Technology & Smart Cities Trade Mission to Saudi Arabia

The UK’s Department for International Trade is delighted to invite you on a trade mission to Saudi Arabia.

The Department for International Trade, in partnership with the Saudi British Joint Business Council (SBJBC) will be leading a UK technology trade mission to Saudi Arabia from 14-16 October 2019, immediately following the GITEX Technology Week in Dubai (6-10 October).

The mission will build on the success of DIT & SBJBC’s smart cities delegation visit in November 2018, and follows a number of new market opportunities in which Saudi Arabia is keen to access innovative UK expertise.  Target sectors include Smart Cities, Fintech, AI and IoT.

With high demand for digital services Saudi Arabia hosts the largest ICT market in the region.  A number of public and private smart city initiatives have been launched in the buildings, transport, parking, communications and environmental sectors, including by the Ministry of Municipalities.  Giga-projects such as NEOM are also making progress, and an ambitious National Digital Transformation Programme is being implemented.

We will be working closely with the Saudi Ministry of Communications & IT and other key agencies to formulate a high level programme over two days in Riyadh and one day in Jeddah.  Business to government meetings and business-to-business roundtables will be planned with the support of DIT, SAGIA and Saudi members of the Joint Business Council.

How to Participate

Participants are expected to make their own travel and visa arrangements, but group hotel rates will be negotiated, and transport to meetings arranged. Participation will be limited to 25 delegates. The programme management fee of £500 (plus VAT) per delegate will include pre-mission briefing, detailed logistical guidance, support on the ground from DIT and SBJBC, group transport to meetings and networking receptions in Riyadh & Jeddah. A digitial delegation brochure will also be prepared. The deadline for registration is 31st July 2019.
