About the Bootcamp

Take centre stage to catapult your HealthTech business from India to the UK.

Following the resounding success of last year’s programme, the British High Commission in India is excited to announce the UK-India HealthTech Bootcamp 2024 which is much bigger than its previous edition. A platform that has empowered Indian companies to gain insights into the UK's health ecosystem, develop robust market access strategies, and establish potential overseas partnerships. The event this year is being organised in collaboration with UK’s government national health agencies and the Bhubaneswar City Knowledge Innovation Cluster Foundation. The Bootcamp aims to empower Indian startups and companies with the ecosystem knowledge and connections needed to grow their respective businesses in the UK's health market, and to continue their product refinement and global expansion journey.

Sessions on a range of topics by subject matter experts including:

  • Overview of the UK health ecosystem  
  • Working with the National Health Service (NHS) - Organisational structure, funding flows, strategies and programmes
  • HealthTech Regulations
  • Research, Evidence and Evaluation
  • Funding and Finance
  • Legal Considerations
  • Next steps

Key takeaways for participants:

Companies gain greater understanding of the UK's health ecosystem and market opportunities engaging directly with subject matter experts and UK NHS stakeholders.  


The Programme will be run in 2 stages. 

Stage 1
30 companies will get to participate in 3 days fully funded HealthTech Bootcamp in the second half of May in Bhubaneshwar. 

Stage 2
6 companies from this cohort will be selected for a 5-day fully fundedbespoke programme in the UK where they will get the opportunity to engage directly with the wider HealthTech ecosystem in the UK

Eligibility criteria:

Indian companies with solutions to address the following challenges being faced by the NHS:

 

  1. Workforce: Innovations that support the NHS workforce by driving efficiency and streamlining workflow. Data and data analytics to make more informed decisions on patient care pathways and the integration of AI and ML tools to facilitate this.
  2. Waiting lists: Innovations that help manage NHS waiting lists e.g. prioritising patients and managing waiting well, including for elective treatment and cancer diagnostic pathways and improve patient experiences in hospitals.
  3. Early diagnostics: Innovations that help in diagnosing disease early leading to early and cost-effective interventions.
  4. Urgent and emergency care: Innovations to prevent / reduce unscheduled care episodes, speed up ambulance care and discharge.
  5. Healthy society & Health ageing: Systems that connect people, platforms that promote physical and cognitive health, and remote therapies.  Solutions that support caregivers and ease pressures on healthcare systems.

What's next?

  • The shortlisted applicants will get to pitch their business ideas virtually on 22 to 24 March 2024.
  • After the pitch round, the top 30 companies will be invited to participate in the UK-India HealthTech Bootcamp in the second half of May 2024 in Bhubaneshwar.
