About the event

An outline of the workshop

The aim of this workshop is to provide insight into what it takes to be successful, long term, in the US as a small to medium sized English company based on the presenter’s 35 years of working with UK companies doing business in the US. Introducing companies to distinctions concerning how business is done in the US; the legal system; and how to take advance preventive steps to minimize exposure to legal risk will be addressed.

What you’ll gain from the day

By attending this masterclass, delegates will be more prepared for the challenges of doing business in the world’s largest market. They will better understand the importance of protecting intellectual property (including trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, etc.); provisions to include in distribution agreements; negotiating strategies; cultural distinctions; types of entities that could be organized and why; and limiting exposure to liability risk.
