The Seafood Market in Japan by DIT, SDI, Seafish & Seafood Scotland

The webinar will introduce the Japanese market and the potential opportunities for UK exporters and is being delivered in collaboration with the Department of International Trade (DIT), Scottish Development International (SDI) and Seafood Scotland.

This event will give UK seafood exporters and those with an interest in trading with Japan the opportunity to access information from trade specialists and guest speakers from the seafood industry in Japan. The agenda will include:

• Overview of the seafood market in Japan, delving into the detail contained within the Japan OMIS guide (available on the Seafish website) and delivered by DIT Japanese in-market specialists

• A panel discussion on the impacts of COVID-19 on the seafood industry in Japan.

• A short presentation on the recent UK / Japan Free Trade Agreement and the opportunities it presents for UK seafood companies delivered by the DIT Trade Policy team in Japan.

• Q&A’s - all questions need to be submitted in advance. There is an opportunity to submit your questions when you register for this event.

This event is open to all UK seafood businesses and is the first in a series of seafood trade webinars being planned by Seafish and the Department for International Trade with a further webinar on the seafood market in UAE planned for 18th November 2020.
