The UK’s Department for International Trade (DIT), British Airways, Scottish Development International (SDI), and Bank of Montreal (BMO) are proud to announce a FinTech Mission to the UK for Canadian FinTechs. The trade mission offers businesses the opportunity to explore the UK’s FinTech market and connect with the thriving FinTech ecosystems in London and Edinburgh.

As the world’s leading global financial services centre, the UK prides itself on:
  • Progressive government policies and regulation that attract investment and promote innovation and competition
  • A tech ecosystem that includes the largest number of FinTech companies in Europe, a diverse talent pool and world-class universities
  • A top destination for companies looking to establish a global presence
  • A leading destination for capital investment from global VCs attracted to talent and favourable tax regimes
DIT invites Canadian FinTech founders interested in establishing a base of operations in the UK to apply.

Interested companies must complete an application form; completed applications do not guarantee participation.

What is provided?
  • Business-class roundtrip airfare (including all taxes) provided by British Airways
  • Hotel accommodations for six nights across London & Edinburgh
  • Bespoke programme with an opportunity to engage with strategic partners, investors and stakeholders in the UK’s FinTech ecosystem

*Participants have the option to extend their return flight and hotel accommodations. Out-of-pocket expenses must be paid by participants. 

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Must be a financial technology company that offers innovative tech solutions in the financial services field
  • Mission delegates must be a founding member of their company
  • The company must be Canadian headquartered
  • Company must be at least 12 months old
  • Company must be committed to establishing a presence in the UK within two years as part of its business plan
  • Submission of an application that includes information about the company and its plans for targeting the UK market
Successful applicants will be notified the week of August 26th.
