About Event

India is projected to be the world’s third-largest economy by 2050, contributing 15% of global GDP. As India emerges from COVID-19 crisis, infrastructure development is being given even more importance to kick start its economy. The Government of India reinstated its commitment to infrastructure development through a National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP), which envisages an investment of INR 111 trillion (£1.2 trillion) in infrastructure over the coming years. Significant part of this will be funded by multilateral and bilateral funding agencies.

UK government’s Department for International Trade (DIT) has partnered with CRISIL, India’s leading infrastructure advisory firm, to present opportunities from infrastructure projects in India, financed by multilateral and bilateral funding agencies. Presentation will be based on outcomes of extensive research carried out by CRISIL on behalf of DIT to identify live and upcoming opportunities in the infrastructure sub-sectors that include metro rail & railways, roads & bridges, water, sanitation & hygiene, environment & climate change and renewable energy among others.

You will hear from panellists from select funding agencies, industry experts and DIT India team on the ongoing developments, practical aspects in addressing these opportunities including on the demand for technology and international expertise in the sector.
