6th May 2021: UK Singapore innovation partnership series
on Industry 4.0/AI/IoT
The Department for International Trade (DIT), in collaboration with the UK Science and Innovation Network (SIN), Tech Nation and IPI welcomes innovative UK tech companies in Industry 4.0, AI and IoT space who are interested in both trade and innovation partnership opportunities in Singapore for a virtual trade mission on 6 May.
Why participate?
Singapore has been ranked by WIPO as Asia’s most innovative nation. Singapore is ranked the world’s second-most connected country and second most digitally competitive country. Annually the Singaporean government spends about £1.95 bn on ICT procurement. The new Research, Innovation and Enterprise (RIE 2025) budget of approximately £14 bn over the next 5 years will focus on (i) Manufacturing, Trade and Connectivity (ii) Human Health and Potential (iii) Urban Solutions and Sustainability (iv) Smart Nation and Digital Economy.
The manufacturing sector saw 7.3 percent growth year on year for the whole of 2020 and manufacturing accounts for more than 20 percent of Singapore’s GDP. Further adoption of the 5G networks and Wi-Fi 6, on top of the continued proliferation of AI (artificial intelligence), IoT (Internet of Things), EVs (electric vehicles) and introduction of new smartphone models and wearable devices will continue to drive demand for high-end electronics parts and components.

- Companies The company would typically be one with an innovative technology of TRL 5-8 developed in the deep tech space
- Companies keen to work with an industry/technology partner here in Singapore on technology cooperation. (e.g licensing, R&D, co-development)
- Companies that have the capabilities and financial runway to internationalise
