The UK’s Department for International Trade (DIT) in New York is now recruiting a diverse group of UK-headquartered FinTechs to join a Virtual ESG & Green Finance focused Trade Mission to the US during New York Climate Week. Selected companies will join a delegation of representatives from the UK’s Asset Management Industry, the City of London, the Investment Association, and the Green Finance Institute.

Over the course of two weeks, participants will engage, present, and listen in on a variety of events and activities both during and after New York Climate Week. They will meet directly with key US stakeholders across financial services to share best practices from the UK on ESG corporate reporting, the development of new data tools to help investors create differentiated strategies, and the latest in innovation around ESG and Sustainability focused products and services.

Successful UK FinTechs and WealthTechs will also have the opportunity to showcase their innovative solutions directly to heads of ESG and innovation from major US corporates.

The full program will take place virtually from September 20th – 30th, 2021.

Week 1 Tentative Agenda (8 hours total)

Day 1: US Market Structure & Entry Strategies (3 hours)

Participants will hear from local DIT representatives, industry leaders, and regulators on the state of the US market, the challenges facing financial services in ESG adoption, and where portfolio managers and innovation leads are seeking to upgrade their capabilities.

Day 2-4: New York Climate Week (1 hour)

Participants will have the option to join a multitude of different events throughout the course of New York Climate Week where this Trade Delegation will form a key part of DIT’s involvement alongside the Road to COP 26

Day 5: Virtual Networking Reception (2 hours)

The first week will conclude with a networking reception bringing together the delegation, participants from New York Climate Week, and other external stakeholders from across financial services.

Week 2 Tentative Agenda (10 hours total)

Day 6-8: Meet the Market Sessions (1-2 hours)

Corporate ESG and innovation representatives from large US financial services firms will host a series of 1-1 sessions with the delegation to discuss their ESG and sustainability priorities followed by presentations from the participating UK FinTechs.

Day 9: UK-US ESG/FinTech Conference (4 hours)

Participants will spend a half-day discussing some of the most pressing challenges and opportunities in ESG and Sustainability through a series of DIT led roundtables and networking sessions with members of the New York asset management and banking community. These roundtables will run on Chatham House rules and provide an opportunity for UK asset managers and FinTechs to share their knowledge and best practices with counterparts in the US.
