Welcome to the UK Investor Network Southern California, or UK IN SoCal, a business network for UK companies in the greater Los Angeles area.
UK IN SoCal has been created by the British Consulate General Los Angeles to support business growth and development and foster a community for UK companies who have established business entities in the greater Los Angeles area, or who are considering doing so. Our mission is to encourage success and unlock new business opportunities by:
- Enabling introductions, networking, referrals, and partnerships among the community
- Providing soft landing and mentorship for new-to-market companies
- Facilitating a forum for knowledge transfer on doing business in the US
- Building the British brand in greater Los Angeles
UK IN SoCal and its sponsors host and organise regular events throughout the year, which are coordinated with input from member companies and partner organisations, and include both general networking functions and events focused on a specific issue or industry sector.
In addition, we offer UK companies newly investing in the greater Los Angeles area the following support:
- Mentors. A network of established UK professionals in Southern California across a range of industry sectors who donate time to advise new UK investors in Southern California. Mentors hold one structured conversation with each new company, and a number of shorter check-ins in the months following.
- Business Services. A network of trusted advisors in legal, accounting, banking, real estate, and recruitment services who donate a consultation to new UK investors in Southern California free of charge.
The British Consulate Los Angeles also offers introductions to local business attraction entities who are eager to support UK companies creating jobs and investing capital in the greater Los Angeles region. These include World Trade Center Los Angeles, Global LA, and Chambers of Commerce.

Who is eligible for membership?
To be a member of UK IN SoCal, you must be a UK-headquartered company with a business entity in the greater Los Angeles region. That covers the five counties of Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, San Bernardino, and Riverside. San Diego is not currently covered by this network.
To take advantage of the support we offer to UK companies newly investing in greater Los Angeles, you must be a UK-headquartered company who has set up a US business entity in the region in the last 12 months, or who is actively considering doing so. UK companies in the latter category must have the resources to create and staff a new business entity.

What is the cost of membership?
Membership costs are currently covered by the British Consulate General Los Angeles, although we are keen for support from sponsors where possible.
