Indigenous Engagement in
Mining Projects in Canada

row-start col-md-7 #top-section top-section new-section

Canada is a country with significant mineral potential, including ‘critical minerals’ needed to support the UK’s green industrial revolution and help support meeting net zero ambitions.

Canada’s ongoing implementation of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) via the Government of Canada’s UNDRIP Act has led to the rapid development and evolution of Indigenous-Industry partnership models that will shape mining projects now and in the future. Given this policy landscape, strong Indigenous partnerships are a pre-requisite for project success. This document helps educate UK investors and businesses to better understand these areas, pulling together a range of resources into one document and sharing case studies from British companies currently operating in Canada.
