Designing Our Future: New York

On April 2-4, the British government will a host a major transatlantic business event in NYC. It will address the drivers transforming economies across the globe and how technology, innovation, low-carbon growth and diverse talent provide the foundation for this rapidly evolving economic future.

Central to the event is the idea that partnership between government, business and academia is essential for success in this new world.

Designing Our Future: New York launches a North America-wide campaign showcasing UK-North America partnerships creating solutions to our shared challenges, including healthy aging, AI and the data revolution, the future of mobility, inclusive and green finance, diversity of talent, and environmental sustainability.
Thought leaders, policy-makers, influencers, entrepreneurs and decision-makers will discuss innovations and ideas that will Design Our Future. The event will include seminars, workshops, conversations, panels and keynotes. Headline speakers include Michael R. Bloomberg KBE, 108th Mayor of New York City and founder of Bloomberg LP and Bloomberg Philanthropies; Harper’s Bazaar Editor-in-Chief Dame Glenda Bailey; tech evangelist, digital skills expert and social entrepreneur Professor Sue Black, OBE; Goldman Sachs Chief Strategy Officer Stephanie E. Cohen; Chair of UK Government’s Green Finance Taskforce and the London Green Finance Initiative Sir Roger Gifford; famed horologist Dr Roger Smith, OBE; and Co-Founder and CEO of Diversity VC Francesca Warner.


The event is hosted by the UK's Department for International Trade and the British Consulate General New York.

Highlights of the three-day program include:

Bloomberg KBE, a global advocate for clean growth and sustainability, as well as a renowned business leader who has forged collaborations between the private and public sectors, will highlight the need for continued innovation partnerships in a rapidly changing world.
