Legal Services are GREAT Trade Mission to Nigeria

Monday, 1 April 2019 - Wednesday, 3 April 2019

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) in partnership with the Department for International Trade (DIT) would like to invite UK members of the legal services sector to join a trade mission to Nigeria

Why Nigeria?

Nigeria has the largest economy and legal sector in sub-Saharan Africa and a legal system based on English law. Trade between UK and Nigeria was worth £4.2 billion in 2017 and is set to double by 2030. MoJ and DIT recognise the substantial business opportunities for UK legal firms and chambers in Nigeria and want to support future investment in the UK.

What are the benefits of participating?

  • Likely activities will include seminars with local lawyers and businesses, networking receptions, one-on-one business meetings and a dinner at the British Deputy High Commissioner’s residence in Lagos
  • Free time to stay on and conduct meetings outside of the planned itinerary
  • One-to-one support from the MoJ and a DIT trade adviser before, during and after the mission. This will include a pre-mission briefing in London to prepare for the visit
