How UK capability is helping to deliver responsible, mine enabled, sustainable economic development: Case Study: Guinea

The UK Government is working with the Government of Guinea, Anglo African Minerals and stakeholders to deliver mine enabled, multi-user port, road, rail and power solutions for sustainable, economic development.  This approach seeks to deliver jobs well beyond the life of mine in multiple sectors across Guinea’s Central Corridor region.

The panel will explore the UK’s approach to delivering mutual stakeholder value in Africa in the context of this case study in Guinea, particularly considering how this approach offers the potential for wider infrastructure development to support West African regional economic diversification.

It will explore, with input from mining financiers, how long-term sustainable development can support governments in achieving this ambition.

The Panel:

  • HE Minister Abdoulaye Magassouba, Minister of Mines and Geology, Government of Guinea
  • Catherine Inglehearn, Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Guinea
  • James Lumley, CEO, Anglo African Minerals
  • Hal Hemmerich, CEO, LeaderstarSolutions
  • Guy De Selliers, President and Co-Founder, HCF International
  • Jon White, CEO, Impact Agri

Pippa Howard, Director, Fauna & Flora International Extractives and Development Infrastructure Programme, will facilitate the session.

Attendance is complimentary, but registration is essential.  Lunch will be provided after the panel session concludes offering an opportunity to network with panel members and session attendees.
