British Embassy Outward Mission to Tatarstan, Russia

About the event

The British Embassy in Moscow is organising a trade mission to the important agricultural and manufacturing region of Tatarstan, and will be led by Department of International Trade’s Russia Deputy Director, Simon Brown.

The market 

The Republic of Tatarstan is one of the fastest-growing regions in Russia. With a population of 3.9m people it lies 800kms east of Moscow at the meeting of the Volga and Kama rivers. Tatarstan’s GRP consists of mineral resources extraction, processing industry, trade, transport and communication, agriculture and construction.

The region is one of the leading agricultural producers in Russia It is in the top three Russian regions for agricultural output and ranks first for milk production and second for potato crop. The Government of Tatarstan supports agricultural companies through their Agro-Industrial Park near to the capital city of Kazan.

Also in Tatarstan is the new city of Innopolis. The city has been created to attract high-tech companies, as well as associated businesses in education and professional services.

Tatarstan is located in the centre of the country It has three airports, extensive railways and roads and three cargo ports. Kazan was one of the host cities of the 2018 World Cup.

This mission will visit Kazan and focus on agriculture and food processing, IT and professional services.

 

The programme will include:


 A meeting with the Prime-Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Government Ministers
 One-to-one meetings with local companies (arranged on request)
 An evening networking event
 Site visits to key companies in the region (according to the delegates’ interest)

Mission costs

A charge of £660 (ex. VAT) per company is applicable for participating in this mission*. If more than one person represents the company an additional £220 (ex. VAT) per additional person is applied.


The costs for group transfers, lunches and interpretation services within the programme will be covered by the Embassy. We will also negotiate group booking rates at local hotels. Delegates will need to cover the costs of their own visa, accommodation and travel including airport transfers, and individual interpreter requirements.


Please note that non-Russian citizens need to have a valid Russian visa to enter the country.

Deadline for registration is Friday 22nd February 2019, but we appreciate earlier expressions of interest.
