Mission Overview

Introducing British Education and Training Providers in AI to the UAE

The Department for International Trade is organising an AI education mission to the UAE. This will explore partnership and collaborative opportunities in AI curriculum development and TNE programme development in AI.  The focus will be on:

  • AI in education
  • coding
  • robotics
  • AI in schools
  • Organisations specialising in advanced analytics
  • Capability building
  • Edtech startups with a strong USP


Benefits

The mission will give you an excellent opportunity to showcase your expertise and value add to key contacts in the region. The visit schedule will include roundtable discussions with potential investors and heads of procurement. There will also be meetings with the Ministry of AI, Ministry of Education, The Dubai Technology Entrepreneur Centre and other high-level stakeholders.

The UAE has taken a series of ambitious steps to ensure that it can take full advantage of the opportunities AI can offer. This Mission will offer you the chance to be a part of these opportunities.


Who should Apply

We welcome applications from Further and Higher Education providers with AI expertise and both academics and partnership managers. This will cover universities and colleges with an offer in AI, innovative AI start-ups in education and Institutes/bodies for AI and data.

Applications are also sought from universities wishing to set up a branch campus or joint programme in the UAE.


Mission Dates

Depart UK:  26 March 2019
Meetings: 27 and 28 March 2019
Return to UK: 29 March 2019


Cost

This trade mission is free to attend. Department for International Trade will organise and cover the cost of participation in all in country meetings, reception, in country vehicle transport and networking events.

However, UK and international travel, subsistence, accommodation and other costs including visa fees are to be paid in full by the delegate.


Travel, visa and hotel arrangements

All flights and hotels must be booked by the delegates. We will give you recommendations, where possible.

Obtaining necessary visas is the responsibility of participants. You can get a visa on arrival in Dubai.
