About
Climate change, natural catastrophes and environmental stress are creating new risks and acting as a ‘threat multiplier’, making existing risks worse. Alongside climate risk there is increasing awareness and a need to develop solutions against other forms of systemic risk such as cyber attacks and pandemics, the devastating economic effects of which we are living through happening right now, so building economic and societal resilience is a high priority across high, middle- and low-income countries alike.
Enhancing resilience requires new levels of collaboration and innovation between the public and private sector and across industries; including insurance, finance, engineering, technology, modelling and regulation.
The Global Resilience Summit 2021 will bring together high level stakeholders from these sectors to learn, create, develop and implement strategies to strengthen regional and global resilience and help close the ‘protection gap’.
