Selling to Africa - A Focus on Life Science Opportunities

Date: Thursday, 5th March 2020

Time: 9:30 am - 4:00 pm

Venue: The Granta Centre, Cambridge, CB21 6AL

The largest exports from the East of England to Africa in 2018 were medicinal and pharmaceutical products, with a value of over £90.1 million*. Now is a great time for healthcare and life science companies to be including Africa in their export strategy.

The Department for International Trade (DIT) in the East of England is holding a specialised Healthcare and Life Science Africa event focusing on helping SMEs to start or expand their export business to Africa. As well as DIT in-market specialists, we will be joined by Bolaji Sofulu from ETK Group who is excellently placed to give advice on market insight.

What will be covered?

  • A detailed focus on target markets
  • Key product requirements
  • Regulatory issues
  • Sound commercial arrangements.

Why attend?

Africa is known to be a difficult and challenging market but also full of opportunity. The event will be focused on providing knowledge and building relationships which will lessen the risk and increase the opportunity.

Speakers will discuss their specialities in depth and then give you a chance to challenge and comment on the real issues as you see them. DIT will take these issues and build up a framework of actions which will include market access, commercial contracts and licensing, regulatory processes and access to financial products.
