The Department for International Trade (DIT) in the UK and Norway are delighted to invite businesses from across the Northern Powerhouse to submit an expression of interest to participate in a potential physical trade mission to Stavanger, Norway. This is planned to take place from Tuesday 30th August – Friday 2nd September 2022.
The North of England and Norway have a long-standing relationship and excellent business relations with many Norwegian companies that are operational in the region, such as Equinor, Aker, and DNV
The Norwegian energy sector is going through change, which is opening opportunities as it embraces other sources of energy as well as energy usage, storage, and distribution. Norway had been synonymous with having significant hydropower capacity however, as demand is increasing, and the need for energy transition gains momentum, Norway is now looking to offshore wind and hydrogen. In addition to energy storage there is a focus upon transport, port infrastructure, data centres, battery production and more.
The programme will incorporate a visit to the biennial international energy event - Offshore Northern Seas (ONS) 2022, as well as other opportunities to meet with key Norwegian companies.
We would encourage expressions of interest from companies who are readily able to supply goods or services in the clean energy sector.
Closing date for expressions of interest: Tuesday 31 May 2022
This expression of interest does not guarantee your place on the mission, at this stage, we are gauging interest in this visit. Some elements of the mission may be subsidised.
