The Department for Business & Trade (DBT) is delighted to invite businesses from across the UK to submit an expression of interest to join DBT at the Personal Care and Homecare Ingredients (PCHi) Trade Show in Shanghai between 20 and 22 March 2024.
PCHi is the leading event for personal care and homecare ingredients in China. It provides a one-stop platform for peer-to-peer information exchange on emerging market trends, technological innovations, new scientific developments and updates on international regulations. In 2023 the 3-day event featured 718 exhibitors from over 30 countries and over 30,000 visitors.
About the Programme
The precise programme is in development, and we will respond to participant interest as far as possible. It is expected the programme will include:
- Support from DBT teams pre, during and post-visit, including a pre-visit briefing
- In-market briefing including legal and regulatory considerations
- Curated tour of PCHi by the show organisers
- UK roadshow at PCHi during the afternoon of the first day of the show, allowing UK companies to present their offer and networking opportunities with relevant Chinese companies
- Dinner/Networking reception organised by the DBT team
The visit will be designed to put your business in the best possible position to make the most of your presence at the show, providing a unique opportunity to explore your business potential within this market.
About China
China is the world's largest chemical producer and importer/exporter. It is the UK's eighth largest export market for chemicals and in 2022, UK businesses exported £736m worth of chemicals-related products and services to China, with £217m of this total including personal and home care ingredients.
With regulations changing to a clearer and simpler process for imported chemicals, 9,014 ingredients can now be imported directly to China. High quality products will be more competitive in the China market, in accordance with regulation on testing and evaluations coming into effect in 2024.
