New Regulations for Automated and Autonomous Vehicles

Both Germany and the UK are currently working on updating legistlation to enable the safe use of automated and autonomous vehicles. This virtual round table will feature experts from industry, the Scottish Law Commission and the Law Commission of England and Wales, and the Centre for Connected and Automated Vehicles. They will provide insight on the current legal position for AVs in the UK and an opportunity for you to comment on proposed changes to legistlation.

Key areas that will be presented and discussed include:

  • Human intervention and transition demands
  • How safe is safe enough
  • National ADS safety assurance approvals
  • In-service safety and ongoing monitoring
  • ADS compliance with local traffic rules
  • Teleoperations and remote fleet supervision
  • Access to data including for incident investigation.
