The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) is delighted to welcome a delegation from Vietnam to the UK, to introduce the UK’s expertise in clean energy.

Meet representatives from Vietnam’s Government owned electricity generator, transmitter and distributor, Vietnam Electricity (EVN), as they learn from the UK’s experience of integrating renewable technologies into the national grid.

This is a great opportunity to connect with key officials in the early stages as Vietnam develops its decarbonisation strategy and renewable capabilities.

About the opportunity

Grid upgrades, developing offshore wind projects and energy transition as a whole are now top priorities for the Vietnamese Government. With key responsibilities to implement, EVN are keen to explore technologies, approaches and solutions for: 

• Offshore Wind Energy development
• Decarbonisation: Solutions to help reduce emission from existing coal fired factories
• Power transmission: Digitalisation, 4.0 solutions, unmanned substations, cable, isolators, etc.
• Battery storage technologies
• Control, protection, monitoring devices
• Solutions to increase energy efficiency
• Consultancy for energy transition

About the event

This is a great networking opportunity where you will get the chance to meet the delegation virtually, as they visit the East of England Energy Group (EEEGR) in Great Yarmouth.

Moderated by DBT, you will hear a presentation from EVN on their long-term prospective procurement requirements before being able to ask questions and make introductions.
