The South by South West (SXSW) Conference and Festivals

Background
The South by South West (SXSW) Conference and Festivals is expanding beyond Austin, Texas to bring its tech, film and music festival, showcase and conference to Sydney, Australia from 15-22 October 2023.
Like SXSW in Austin, SXSW Sydney will be a must-attend event for creators and professionals seeking to shape and discover future trends, emerging technology and access fantastic networking opportunities.

Trade Missions
For the first edition of SXSW Sydney, DBT plans to organise 2 trade missions covering music and creative technologies.
The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) with music industry partners are organising a trade mission, inviting UK companies looking to grow their business in this region and showcase their artists to a whole new audience to participate. Application details to follow.    
For the creative technologies mission, DBT would like to recruit companies who operate in the following areas:
•    Digital advertising agencies and branding
•    Digital marketing
•    Social media and influencing
•    Video Games
•    Digital content storytelling, production and entertainment
•    Immersive content
•    Web 3, XR and Metaverse
•    AI 
At SXSW Sydney, DBT will facilitate networking and speaking opportunities and organise a reception for the UK companies attending the event.

Support Package
DBT will not offer grant support to UK delegates. Further details on the package will be provided in due course. At a broad level, support will consist of pre-event briefings and facilitated business introductions and targeted networking.
