This conference is hosted in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the British Serbian Chamber of Commerce.

The UK and Western Balkans

Trade between UK and Western Balkans has grown from £1 bn in 2019 to £4.3 bn in early 2024.

Serbia is the largest economy and largest FDI destination in the region. The country is on an €17bn investment cycle up to 2027 when Belgrade will host the EXPO exhibition.

The total GDP of the economies of the Western Balkans has increased in the past 5 years by € 44 billion, a 44% increase on 2019, and in 2023 it amounted to € 145.9 billion. 

The average GDP per capita grew from € 5,699 in 2019 to € 8,596 in 2023, a 50% increase.
