The UK in a Europe-wide CO2 Storage Market

Reducing carbon emissions and achieving carbon neutrality is one of the greatest challenges for businesses today - particularly for heavy emitters like cement, glass, chemicals, paper, steel and petro companies.

The UK’s geography, expertise and policy makes a great environment for Carbon Capture Usage and Storage (CCUS). Our aim is to be a key player in a Europe-wide CO2 storage market. The UK has 1/3 of European storage capacities, estimated 78mtpa. UK storage sites are the most cost-effective carbon storage sites across Europe.

Join our webinar taking place on 4th March 2025 at 15:00-16:30 PM (CET) in collaboration with the Carbon Capture and Storage Association (CCSA) and NRW.Energy4Climate to find out how to access the UK's vast reserves.

Here's why:

  • We can offer the most cost-effective carbon storage sites across Europe.
  • The UK Government is backing it via a new Industrial Strategy - recently committing £21.7bn investment.
  • New clusters are setting up across the UK, centred around industrial hubs, enabling emitters to use centralised CO₂ transport and storage.

Webinar Details

Why should you join this webinar?

  • Hear about CCUS developments in the UK and cost benefits of UK carbon storage sites
  • Understand the timelines and capacities of the advanced CCUS projects in the UK
  • Connect with UK Storage operators and clusters

Who is this for?

  • This webinar aims to help connect European emitters with UK storage operators and clusters.
  • These typically includes European heavy industrial emitters, manufacturers with heavy carbon reduction requirements (for example glass, steel, paper, cement, chemicals, petro companies)
  • Companies looking for carbon storage solutions to establish Net Zero status possibly looking into locations for their next factory/base.
  • The CCSA report identified that UK storage is 20% cheaper than other destinations.
