2021 - 2024

UK Export Finance

Tuesday, 12 October 2021, 11:30 - 12:30

About the event

On Wednesday 22nd September UK Export Finance (UKEF) published its Climate Change Strategy, confirming our commitment to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions from our portfolio and operations by 2050. You are invited to join a webinar with UKEF on the 12th October at 11.30am to learn more about the Strategy from those who have developed it, as well as to ask the questions that matter to you and your customers.

Please secure your place by registering now. We also welcome your questions in advance of the roundtable; please send them to events@ukexportfinance.gov.uk.

This new Strategy lays out our ambitious plans to support UK exporters and suppliers through the global transition to net zero and lead the way to a more sustainable future. This will see us further increase our support for clean growth, renewable energy and climate adaptation exports, and improve our management of climate-related risks in our portfolio.

The Strategy will also build on our position as an international leader amongst Export Credit Agencies (ECAs) and other relevant financial institutions on climate change. We were the first ECA to commit to ending support for new fossil fuel projects overseas, and last year doubled our support for sustainable exports to £2.4 billion in 2020. We also launched our £2 billion direct lending facility for clean growth projects, and developed the Transition Export Development Guarantee for major UK exporters - backing our first Green Transition Loan in August.

We look forward to seeing you then. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to email events@ukexportfinance.gov.uk if you have any questions or would like any more information.
