Priya Guha

Priya is a Venture Partner at Merian Ventures, investing in women-led innovation, a Non-Executive Director (NED) at UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), at the Digital Catapult and Adjunct Faculty at the Ashridge Hult Business School. She was previously GM for RocketSpace, launching their UK operations. Priya used to be a career diplomat, most recently as British Consul General to San Francisco and previously in India and Spain. She is on the Althea Foundation Board and the Tech London Advocates Advisory Board. She also Chairs the Board of Trustees of Modern Muse and is an Advisor to The Youth Group. Priya was recently named in the 2020 Top 50 Most Influential Women in Technology for the 3rd year running.

 

Christian Kumar

Christian has had a career spanning over 30 years in corporate finance, investment banking, and wealth management. He has created a "demand-based" deployment model that allows rapid commercialisation of ideas, a method of valuation, and funding to motivate stakeholders whilst minimizing risks to investors. 

With a portfolio of 6 companies and over 22 investments, in Leisure, Med Tech, Construction, and Energy, Christian has been able to build a modern private equity house in line with a changing landscape of investor demand.

 

Jude Ower MBE

Jude has spent the past 17 years in gaming, focusing on games ‘beyond entertainment’ and crossing over into other sectors; education, training, advertising and marketing/communications. She has founded 3 companies and worked with corporates, governments and charities on a global scale. Jude is passionate about ’profit with purpose’ business models, innovation and achieving the SDGs by 2030. Jude was named the ‘One to Watch’ by Sir Richard Branson and Steve Wozniak in 2015 and was awarded an MBE for services to entrepreneurship in 2016. She is a Maserati 100 from 2018 and 100 Women in Games 2019.

 

Dr Mike Short CBE

Mike Short, after 30 years in telecommunications with Telefonica, joined the
Department for International Trade (DIT) as the Department’s first Chief Scientific
Adviser in December 2017.

Mike leads the Science and Engineering profession in the Department and ensures its
policy is informed by the best science, engineering and technical advice. He advises
DIT on the technical aspects of international trade deals, supports inward investment
and engineering collaboration, and works with the UK’s research, innovation and
academic communities to boost scientific and engineering exports.
