Legacy

8 August 2022

Birmingham and the West Midlands is playing host to one of the world’s largest sporting events. The impact of such an event cannot be underestimated, and whilst there is much attention on the delivery of the Games and ensuring a positive and welcoming experience for all who arrive in the region during those key 11 days, what happens once the event is over is almost more important. The lasting legacy and economic impact of an event of this magnitude cannot be underestimated and it is vital that as a region, we ensure we are working in collaboration to maximise this incredible opportunity.

On Legacy Day, there was the opportunity to hear from a number of expert speakers who discussed and reflected on what has been achieved, as well as looking to the future and where the region can go now post-Games, as we ensure a lasting legacy for all who live, work and visit the region.
