Renewable Energy Trade Visit to the North of England

20 - 24 June 2022

Find out about the UK strength in the energy sector

Attend Global Offshore Wind 2022 and explore the North of England as part of DIT's exclusive five-day trade visit.

The UK Department for International Trade (DIT) invites international stakeholders to the North of England to see the best of the northern energy sector.

The North holds 40% of the UK’s offshore wind farms, including two of the world’s largest offshore wind farms, Dogger Bank off the North East coast, which will cover the same area as greater London capable of powering 6 million homes, and the Hornsea projects off the Yorkshire and the Humber coast, which will be able to generate 5GW. In the North West, Burbo Bank is home to the UK’s first offshore wind farm and today the North West has the world’s second largest concentration of offshore wind farms, 270 wind turbines operated by Ørsted with a strong regional supply chain. A further 3GW project, Morgan and Mona, is currently being developed in the Irish Sea. With 10.4GW currently operational, the UK is aiming to reach its target of 50GW of installed offshore wind capacity by 2030.

This trade visit will start at Global Offshore Wind (GOW) in Manchester, before taking you on a tour of the North West, North East, and Yorkshire and the Humber.
