Australia has a well-established financial services sector that holds a strong position in the APAC region with a stable regulatory ecosystem. Australia continues to establish itself as a global hub of fintech innovation, which has rapidly accelerated throughout the pandemic driven by the need for large incumbents and fintech's alike to evolve and embrace digital models to meet the needs of consumers accessing financing online.
Emerging areas of opportunities for UK fintech companies include (but not limited to); payment technologies, lending, wealthtech and insurtech, open banking, ESG and sustainability, alternative assets, buy-now pay-later, data insights (AI and predictive), rewards and loyalty innovation and convergence of instore/online purchasing.
About the Intersekt 2022 Conference
Intersekt is the leading and most thought-provoking conference in the region. It is the largest gathering of Australian Fintechs, financial services, hubs, accelerators, policymakers, regulators, investors and advisors, devoted to examining, discussing and unlocking the potential of Australia’s Fintech market.

Selected UK companies will be invited to participate in the trade mission to Australia and join the UK Government at the Intersekt conference. Our Trade Mission allows you to meet and showcase your services and products, to key decision makers across Australia, including a range of stakeholders such as business, industry and thought leaders.
Application Details
Applications are open to UK headquartered fintech, wealthtech, insurtech and regtech companies who have technology solutions for the financial services sector and have identified a go-to-market strategy for Australia. DIT will also present on opportunities in New Zealand for companies who are also interested in this market.
Please note: although there is no cost to participate in the mission program, all travel expenses including flights, accommodation, meals and Intersekt conference ticket will be at your own expense.
