Trade Mission to the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco
Monday, 20 March 2023 - Friday, 24 March 2023
The Department for International Trade is delighted to announce plans to take a UK trade mission to the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco from 20 - 24 March 2023. At this time, we are calling for expressions of interest from companies based in the Midlands Engine, Northern Powerhouse, and the Southern England region of the UK.
Why attend GDC?
As the leading global video games conference, GDC could be your platform to success and enable you to strengthen your reputation within the United States. The USA video game market size is estimated to be worth £71 billion - one of the highest in the industry and you could be part of it!
Attendees include developers, publishers, programmers, artists, producers, funders and major platforms and technology providers such as Amazon, Epic, Google, Intel, Nvidia, Oculus and Sony.
Successful applicants will benefit from a variety of activity as part of the mission, including:
- Pre-mission support
- A series of US market entry sessions
- Commercial development meetings
- Panel discussions and pitching opportunities
- Access to an exclusive market research report
- Support from Game Republic
- Promotion of your company whilst in market through DIT and partners
- In-market networking reception
- Access to UK Interactive Entertainment (UKIE) networking events
We will also provide support on the ground at GDC for companies joining our mission, and in addition to the above, we aim to secure additional ad-hoc meetings, provide advice on the best networking events, and make personal introductions to journalists, games companies, industry players and more.
Due to a high level of registrations for this mission, we are now operating on a waitlist. Please register your interest and if a space becomes available, your application will be reviewed by our team and we will confirm if you have been selected to join the mission.
Please note: There is no cost to join this mission however companies are required to cover their own costs including flights, accommodation, GDC entry and subsistence.
