UK - Hong Kong Fintech Week 2020

Monday, 2 November 2020 to Thursday, 5 November 2020

These six UK FinTechs are joining our virtual trade mission to Hong Kong FinTech Week 2020:

AMPLYFI’s globally leading technology allows businesses to unlock unstructured data (internal documents, web pages, academic papers etc) at scale which, when combined with our gold standard structured data, ensures a comprehensive picture of businesses and sectors can be created. This approach reduces the time and therefore the cost of reaching decisions, allow better capital and portfolio management, which in turn leads to increased revenues. Using this approach where AMPLYFI process data in or near real time led to NatWest Bank winning the Credit Portfolio Manager of Year award in 2019.

Company Bios
Delio

Delio’s mission is simple - to connect their clients with private investment opportunities quickly, transparently and compliantly. We do this by creating end-to-end solutions that mitigate the challenges typically associated with private market investments. Technology is at the heart of everything we do. However, we know that digital tools are only as good as the way they are applied to your business. That’s why we take the time to explore and understand the very different needs of the financial institutions we serve, creating tailored solutions that meet your specific requirements. So, whatever your private market challenge, we are here to help.

KASKO

KASKO provides InsurTech as a Service, enabling insurers to set up digital insurance schemes and distribute them through any and all channels in as little as 4-8 weeks for typically €30,000-€60,000, regardless of their IT restraints or legacy systems. The platform’s functionality is modular and open via API and can generate mobile-first white-labelled front-ends. KASKO is used by >30 insurers on >100 products in 8 countries. Customers include Allianz, Baloise, Swiss Re and Zurich. The platform is product agnostic and works across all business lines. Current products include P&C personal lines (motor, home, liability, legal, travel, items etc.) and SME (cyber, legal, financial lines etc.) and specialty, health & life insurance are planned.

Onfido

Onfido is the new identity standard for the internet. Our AI-based technology assesses whether a user’s government-issued ID is genuine or fraudulent, and then compares it against their facial biometrics. That’s how we give companies like Revolut, Zipcar and Bitstamp the assurance they need to onboard customers remotely and securely.

Tandem is a fintech start up focused on delivering financial solutions with honesty and transparency to our customers. Tandem draws its heritage from one of the UKs leading fintech firms and wants to bring our operational experience, design thinking and data driven product innovation to the Hong Kong market. We want to offer Hong Kong customers a better alternative to the big banks to empower our customers to take charge of their financial health and provide them with the tools to make informed choices.

TransferWise is a financial company for people who travel, live and work internationally. It makes sending money overseas up to 8 times cheaper than the banks. TransferWise was launched in 2011 when co-founders Taavet Hinrikus and Kristo Käärmann realised how much it cost to transfer money between the UK and Estonia. Taavet was based in London but paid in euros; Kristo worked in London but paid a mortgage in Estonia in euros. They each needed what the other had, so they figured out a fair way to exchange money, using the mid-market rate – without fees and hidden exchange rate mark-up charged by banks. They saved thousands of pounds and realised there were millions across the world who could do the same.
