About the Mission

The Department for International Trade and Scottish Development International, together with official commercial sponsor, Takeda Pharmaceuticals International AG, are inviting applications from UK companies to take part in the Life Science Trade Mission to Switzerland on 14-15. May 2019.

Data-driven innovation in drug discovery and development

AI and machine learning / predictive modelling – big data analysis – biomarkers – genomics – bioinformatics


Why take part? 

The Mission will visit 2 major life science clusters in Switzerland:

  • Basel 

Home to Roche, Novartis and many other pharma/biotech companies.

  • Geneva

‘Health Valley’ is one of the fastest growing clusters of life science companies in the world.

The focus of this trade mission is to support UK businesses to access key decision-makers in Swiss pharma/biotech companies and to facilitate conversations with a potential customer-base in Switzerland.

It is anticipated that the UK delegation will be limited to 15 businesses with a similar number of Swiss pharma/biotech at each location.

 

Cost

There is an organisation fee of £660+VAT per UK company, which will be charged via the OMIS platform (Overseas Market Introduction Service).

For Scotland-registered Companies, the fee is a reduced £330+VAT via a Scottish Development International application incentive subsidy.

UK delegates will be responsible for their own flights to/from Switzerland and for accommodation. However, SDI/DIT will negotiate group rates at hotels in Basel and Geneva.
