About the event

Intellectual property, or IP is a vital asset for most businesses and it’s important to make sure that it’s protected when you take your business abroad. Help and support on all IP related concerns is available to businesses through the UK Intellectual Property Office (IPO) attaché, based at British High Commission, New Delhi. The UK IPO attaches work with local UK Department for International Trade (DIT) and Foreign, and Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO) leads to provide support for UK businesses on local IP matters. 14,000 UK businesses have already been helped by Government’s intellectual property attachés to deal with IP issues worth nearly £1/2 billion. This session will explore the key strategies and partnerships of the UK IPO with industry bodies and the Government of India and will offer practical insights into the IP regime in India and the attaché support available to businesses.
