Export Shed Events

Here is what you will learn in each Export Shed session:

10th March 2022 -  The Export Shed:  Trading with the EU in a post Brexit World:  A Panel Discussion - 10.00-11.00

The UK may no longer be in the EU, but that doesn’t mean the EU isn’t still a vital trading partner.  It’s just that the way we trade with our neighbours has changed.

We know that for many businesses, dealing with the double spectre of COVID and the UK exiting the European Union, as well as getting to grips with the new tax and duty implications when selling into Europe, has been confusing, time consuming and a tricky path to navigate.

Add to that, new tax procedures introduced last year by many countries and the EU itself, and it’s no wonder it has all been quite a challenge.

This undoubtedly meant that some businesses stopped exporting to Europe in 2021.

However, 2022 is indicating a renewed appetite to resume and rebuild the great relationships that South West businesses previously had with European customers.

In response to numerous requests from businesses across the South West, our next Export Shed is going to help tackle some of these issues head on and to help unpick some of the confusion.

For this Export Shed, we are delighted that we will be joined by Alex Wyatt from Simply VAT who will be on hand to help with the complex issues businesses face.

Alex will be joined by Tracey Ruff, Head of our International Trade Centre in Bristol and Catherine Stephens, Head of International Trade Services at Business West. They will be able to share valuable knowledge around duty, VAT and documentation changes to help guide you through this new world.

Please join us for what should be a particularly interesting and informative Export Shed.
