The UK’s Department for International Trade (DIT) in collaboration with the Welsh Government, Scottish Government, and partners is organising a Space Mission for a selected Canadian business delegation to England, Wales, and Scotland to explore the rapidly growing UK space sector.
Mission Objectives
The UK space industry is one of the fastest-growing sectors. It generates an estimated income of £16.4 billion per year and supports around 45,000 jobs across all regions of the UK.
DIT is UK ministerial department responsible for securing UK and global prosperity by promoting and financing international trade and investment and championing free trade. DIT and its partners are organising this mission will help Canadian space companies understand the UK space market, and support their plans for growth in England, Wales, and Scotland. It will provide valuable information, networks, and contacts in business, academia, and government to support potential investment and partnerships. The programme will include networking in London and visits to UK space hubs in Oxford, Cardiff, Leicester, and Glasgow to highlight their unique offerings.
Draft Programme (subject to change)
- 5th March: Depart Canada (various airports) to London
- 6th March: Arrive London (Heathrow Airport)
- 7th March: Welcome event and networking in London
- 8th March: Visit to Oxford
- 9th March: Visit to Cardiff
- 10th March: Visit to Leicester
- 11th March: Visit to Glasgow
- 12th March: Depart London Heathrow Airport to Canada (various airports)
