UK & Brazil Partners in Energy 2022 - Powering Net Zero

Annual event from the British government that aims to promote and strengthen the partnership between UK and Brazil in the energy sector, through knowledge sharing and commercial exchange. It is a platform for British and Brazilian companies and government agencies to discuss the future of the energy sector, its challenges and opportunities, and to gain a deeper insight into regulatory frameworks, new technologies and solutions in areas of common interest. 

In its 9th edition, the conference aspires to raise the UK’s profile as the global leader in clean growth, technology and innovation - powering the journey to net zero.

Six (06) simultaneous workshops will take place in the morning and in the afternoon, with the participation of speakers from the main British and Brazilian companies, research centres and governmental agencies of the energy sector. The following topics will be covered:

 

1. Offshore Wind - How offshore wind can promote economic development in Brazil

2. Hydrogen - Hydrogen vision for 2030: untapped potential in the Brazilian market 

3. Nuclear Energy - Small Modular Reactors: the future of nuclear energy

4. Oil & Gas Decommissioning - Supply chain gaps and partnership opportunities 

5. Waste to Energy - Challenges and opportunities 

6. Biogas and Biomethane - How biogas and biomethane can contribute to emission reduction and energy transition 

 

*All workshops will have simultaneous translation.

Morning Workshops

The morning workshops aim to provide an in-depth look at UK expertise and innovation in each of the following areas: Offshore Wind, Nuclear Energy and Waste to Energy. 

In each of the morning sessions, UK and Brazilian organisations with expertise in those areas will be presenting their innovative solutions, in order to discuss the challenges and opportunities within the market. 

 

Afternoon Workshops

The afternoon workshops will also be simultaneous, covering the following topics: Hydrogen, Oil & Gas Decommissioning, and Biogas/Biomethane.

 

Roundtables

The roundtables aim to raise awareness of the UK's capability available for energy projects in the following areas:  

 

1. Digitalisation and energy efficiency in the mining sector 

2. Insurance opportunities in the renewable energy sector
