The British Embassy in Saudi Arabia maintains and develops relations between the UK and Saudi Arabia. Our work covers a range of issues including trade and investment, education, culture, development, energy and climate security and defence.
Key to the bilateral relationship is the economic growth between our two Kingdoms that has seen trade grow by 5.3% over the past year to £17.6bn. UK businesses are benefiting, with exports to the Kingdom up by 15% to £13.1bn in 2023, while Saudis have invested more than $23bn in the UK since 2017, with £3bn directed towards investments in the North East of England.
Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 - the Kingdom's ambitious strategy to drive economic and societal change across the country, has also opened up new opportunities for growth in areas like tourism, health, education, culture and more.
Saudi Arabia is one of the United Kingdom's primary trading partners in the Middle East, and the UK’s 23rd largest trade partner globally. To support this growth, the UK’s Department for Business and Trade provides trade and investment services, as well as practical support, for UK and Saudi companies exploring economic opportunities in both our countries.
