UK Skills Partnership SkillsFest 2024 - Call for speakers – submit your expression of interest NOW.

SKILLSFEST24 will take place in 2024 in partnership the Department for Business and Trade International Education team

SkillsFest2024 will deliver 16 hours of skills and lifelong learning sessions delivered by 48 UK skills training providers through 8 webinars spread over 5 days.

Participants will experience some of the world’s most innovative and high quality skills and training delivery demonstrated through case studies and live examples during SkillsFest24. The daily interactive  sessions will showcase skills solutions that can be contextualised for delivery wherever you are! That’s right, it is a week-long global online SkillsFest.

This call is currently open to all TVET skills and training providers, further education and national colleges, Institute of Technology, Awarding Organisations, Sector Skills Bodies and National Skills Academies, Skills Tech suppliers, Chartered and professional bodies to step forward as speakers/presenters. The deadline for acceptance of EOIs is noon on Friday 23rd August 2024.

IPSEF Global 2024

SKILLSFEST – GLOBAL ONLINE SKILLS SHOWCASE

Going Global, 2024

Details:
This is the British Council's flagship higher education event, and will be taking place in Africa, for the first time, in late 2024. The event will be focused on the Africa region (including North Africa) and is expected to attract a significant number of ministers from across the continent.  The event will act as a focal point for activity for HMG and sector representatives and will demonstrate the strength of the UK higher education offer to a predominantly African audience, and help to consolidate our relationships with African education Ministries.

Higher Education and TNE Mission to Nigeria

Details:
Building on the successful DBT Mission to Nigeria in November 2023, this mission will take a group of selected UK universities to Nigeria to develop partnerships and deliver TNE in Nigeria. The TNE guidelines provide a framework for new partnerships, and in the months between now and the mission, DBT will be working with the sector to navigate the regulatory environment and build momentum. This will ensure that delegates are well versed in delivering TNE in Nigeria. We will commence formal promotion for mission delegates in the summer, but in the meantime, you can express your interest in joining to Richard Grubb.

GREEN SKILLS WEBINARS

Following on from the highly successful Green Skills workshop on 29th February 2024 held in Brussels, two further action orientated webinars will take place on 29th and 30th May 2024 with the ambition to create collaborative UK-EU partnerships which enable skills development in the Sustainable Construction and Renewable Energy sectors.

StudyWorld China Roadshow

StudyWorld is organised by English UK, the national membership association of accredited English language teaching centres and this in-country programme will visit Chengdu, Beijing and Shanghai, offering a combination of one-to-one business meetings, networking lunches and market briefings with local education agents. Meetings are scheduled online, ahead of the events.

DBT UK Pavilion at BETT Asia EdTech Expo and Regional Summit

This hugely productive show offers UK exhibitors the opportunity to engage with regional buyers and influencers, as well as DBT Education regional staff.  Following the last, 2023 event, we have helped the UK providers who were with us in following up on strong leads to Export Win success, and we’re currently working with the show organisers to encourage a strong local and regional turnout.  DBT, in partnership with BESA, will once again be hosting a UK pavilion, with branded pods for selected, collocated providers, and, in addition, we will also be offering fantastic sponsorship opportunities.  We will commence a full promotional drive in the summer

FOBISIA Annual Leadership Conference

Higher Education TNE Mission to Brazil

Date: Late September 2024.

Details:
The British Council, with the support of DBT and Universities UK international, is co-ordinating a delegation to Brazil.  This much-anticipated programme follows the excellent outcomes of inward university visits to the UK over the last 2 years, a visit to the UK by the Brazilian Education Minister Camilo Santa, followed by a reciprocal visit last autumn by former Minister of Education Nick Gibb, and the UK/Brazil Education MOU.  The programme aims are to influence bilateral partnerships and agreements, advance ongoing discussions, including outlining next steps for the MOU, and to provide UK HEIs with first-hand knowledge of in-country policies for TNE and internationalisation.

The Made in the UK Sold to the Indo-Pacific: Meet the Experts is a two week series of in-person events run by the UK Government and our partners.

It will support UK companies to access business opportunities across the Indo-Pacific as well as help you to navigate the support available. Delegates will meet sector and country experts who will provide intel on doing business in their markets, including what is in demand and where the opportunities are. Participants will also hear first-hand from companies who are now successfully doing business in the region.
