Great British Business Club

The Department for Business and Trade (DBT), welcomes you to the Great British Business Club (GBBC) – a forum for peer-to-peer networking, supporting business growth and development throughout New York. By providing a platform for collaborative networking, DBT New York aims to unlock additional business opportunities for companies within the Club.

DBT hosts and organizes at least four events throughout the year, coordinated with input from the GBBC Steering Committee and Club members. These include networking receptions, focused panels and roundtables that relate to topics of interest within the Club.

Club members also have access to our exclusive GBBC LinkedIn Group to further facilitate networking and connections.

What are the objectives of the GBBC?

• To enable introductions, cross referrals and partnerships among the community.

• To provide a soft landing and mentorship for new to market companies.

• To present a forum for knowledge transfer on doing business in the US.

• To offer the opportunity to work with DBT to develop your business across the US.

• To build the British brand in New York.

In addition, we offer UK companies who have recently expanded into the New York market the following support:

• Business Services - A network of trusted advisors in legal, accounting, banking, real estate, and recruitment services who donate a consultation to new UK businesses in NYC free of charge.

The British Consulate New York can offer companies introductions to helpful resources for businesses setting up in New York such as BritishAmerican Business and the NYC Economic Development Council.

DBT also offers export support for UK businesses via the UK Export Acadamy. Where you can find answers to a wide range of questions, create your export action plan, and find exporting courses and training.

How do I know if I'm eligible to be a member?

You must be a UK headquartered company with a business entity in the New York City area.

What is the cost of membership?

Membership costs are currently covered by DBT although we welcome support from sponsors wherever possible. If you’re interested in sponsorship, please contact:
