About the organisers

British Embassy in Mexico City

The British Embassy in Mexico supports a diverse range of British interests in Mexico. These cover areas of interest to the United Kingdom and Mexico as diverse as politics, development and trade, among others. Its Consular section in Mexico City and its Consulate in Cancun provide assistance to British nationals in Mexico and it also has commercial offices in its Embassy at Mexico City, its Consulate at Monterrey and its office in Guadalajara that advise British companies on establishing business footprints in Mexico and Mexican companies on investing in the UK. 

The UK’s Department for International Trade (DIT) helps businesses export, drives inward and outward investment, negotiates market access and trade deals, and champions free trade. We are an international economic department, responsible for: 

  • Supporting and encouraging UK businesses to drive sustainable international growth
  • Ensuring the UK remains a leading destination for international investment and maintains its number one position for international investment stock in Europe
  • Opening markets, building a trade framework with new and existing partners which is free and fair 
  • Using trade and investment to underpin the government’s agenda for a Global Britain and its ambitions for prosperity, stability and security worldwide.

 

 

British Chamber of Commerce

Founded in 1921, the British Chamber of Commerce in Mexico is a non-profit organisation promoting foreign direct investment along with export based economic growth between Mexico and the United Kingdom.

The British Chamber of Commerce is a politically neutral organisation, independent of both the Mexican and British governments. Through events, seminars, business sector groups and industry-specific reports, it promotes the commercial interests of its members, also offering high quality event programming and creating ongoing networking opportunities. It has a large network of members representing the most important sectors in Mexico and the UK.
